Tembec inaugurates new $29M anaerobic treatment facility to reduce fossil fuel use

Pulp and paper producer Tembec Inc. has officially inaugurated a new anaerobic treatment facility which will produce methane biogas and greatly reduce the use of fossil fuels at its high-yield pulp mill in Matane, Québec. Nova Scotia Power Plans For Biomass Plant Still A Go

Despite the closure of the NewPage Mill in Port Hawkesbury, NS, Nova Scotia Power (NSP) says it will move forward with plans to build a $200 million 60 megawatt biomass cogeneration plant on site. Hydro-Québec Inks Biomass Power Deal

Hydro-Québec announced a plan to purchase 150 megawatts of power generated by forest biomass cogeneration plants throughout the province. Tembec Announces Cogeneration Project

Montreal-based pulp and paper company Tembec Inc. announced this week they will be launching a $190-million cogeneration project at their Témiscamingue site in northwestern Quebec.
